Joint Academy is a global leader in delivering digital treatment for chronic joint pain, connecting patients with licensed physiotherapists. Backed by science, our clinically validated treatment programs include individualized exercises, interactive education and tracking tools. The intersection of digital treatment and data science opens up new possibilities of treating patients in a sustainable and more personal way, while reducing pain and improving quality of life.
We are now looking to add more passionate Ruby on Rails developers to work with the backend system servicing our applications used by tens of thousands of patients and physiotherapists. With Joint Academy, you’re joining a scaleup with a global reach beyond its origins in Sweden, treating patients in multiple markets across two continents.
Engineering
Our engineering department consists of ~35 developers creating our platform and applications for patients, physiotherapists and others involved in digital treatment. The tech stack we use is based on Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes and AWS for the backend, with React and React Native used for our frontend client applications. We are organized in small cross-functional product teams, and as a Ruby on Rails backend engineer you will work closely with frontend developers to implement new features and manage the parts of our products that the team is responsible for. Each team has a dedicated product manager, designer and multiple frontend and backend developers working together on shared goals.
What You'll Do
Requirements
We are looking for developers with a few years experience of working with Ruby on Rails, and we offer you a great opportunity to level up your skills by joining a strong team with experienced developers working on a complex and fully featured backend environment.
Apart from your passion for Ruby and Ruby on Rails in general, we think you also have experience with or at least an interest in some of the related tools that we use on a daily basis, including RSpec for writing specs and PostgreSQL for data management.
