Front end QAEngineer to help develop our end-user applications. Neo4j is expanding into end-user applications, building on the power of our world-leading graph database. The first of our end-user applications is Neo4j Bloom, an application for interactive graph visualisation.
Are you comfortable with
exploratory testing to find weaknesses in the software and
designing and managing an automated test suite?
In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of how Bloom works, and of the graph data model it is based on. You will also need to appreciate the business problems solved by our customers in fields such as fraud investigation and journalism.
You will work as part of product engineering team, and collaborate closely with our product managers and UX designers. Our engineering team is split between our Malmö and London offices, so it is important to be comfortable working in a distributed team.
Our model is for the whole product engineering team to be jointly responsible for quality. However, this is the first role in the end-user team that specifically focuses on quality, so there is an opportunity to shape the way that the team operates and collaborates.
Our software is built on modern web technology (React, Redux, WebGL) and automation is built into our culture, with heavy use of unit and integration testing, and sophisticated Continuous Integration pipelines.

- Apply exploratory testing to understanding new features and complex use-cases
- Design and manage a suite of automated tests, in close collaboration with other engineers
- Collaborate with software engineers across the whole of Neo4j product engineering
- Identify testing methodologies suitable for each situation
We're looking for candidates to bring:- 3+ years experience in front-end test automation
- Experience with end-to-end, unit and manual testing in Javascript
- Experience testing complex single-page web apps
- Experience with several web-app testing frameworks and methodologies
Nice to have:- Knowledge of Cypher and Neo4j
- Experience with Electron
- Experience with data-focused products such as databases or Business Intelligence tools
