The essence of the role

We are looking for a hands-on team manager to help grow our fraud and payments operations team. You will lead the efforts to eliminate fraud on the online platform and ensure a positive payment experience for our online customers. This is a quickly expanding area. As our company has a local footprint in all parts of the world and grows very fast globally, we need someone with hands-on experience to hit the ground running and evolve this function, in collaboration with other regional managers. Aside from the responsibility to ensure Sinch conducts proper monitoring of new and existing customers in order to detect potential red flags and determine actions, the following is an overview of your areas:

  • Lead our fraud detection and prevention strategy
  • and ensure it operates as expected
  • Continuously review and improve configuration to optimise our fraud detection capabilities, and fraud response operations, while balancing this with optimal customer experience
  • Ensure internal stakeholders are aware of the current fraud trends and aligned on anti-fraud efforts
  • Manage fraud incidents and together with team take immediate action to stop the fraud if it is an ongoing situation

The exact number of total years of experience is not a determining factor. What is important to us is the combination of experience from roles within fraud prevention that have been hands-on, involved projects and strategic planning and implementation, coupled with the proven knowledge and expertise in fraud prevention and KYC work.

  • Up to date knowledge and recent experience from operational work hands-on
  • Extensive understanding of customer due diligence and KYC data processes and proven ability to put it in
  • Experience working with all sides of the fraud prevention domain with at least 3-4 years working strategically (setting standards and implementing), investigative work and handling fraud cases
  • Experience from a consultative role, having had a vital role in the formation of the fraud-function

To succeed in this role, we believe you are analytical with the ability to quickly understand the bigger picture and always keep it in the back of your mind. You easily switch from operational to strategic and are able to translate what fraud prevention and KYC work would mean in Sinch’s industry. Good communication and stakeholder management skills will also be vital in this role, and the ability to effectively and proactively collaborate with various parts of the organization, on all levels.
